Cancer Survivors Park
Challenge
The team working to build the Cancer Survivors Park had no previous owner's representation and had been in development for years and needed to finalize a process to establish a realistic start date for substantial fundraising and ultimately ground breaking.
Insight
The owners were looking for a way to separate their efforts into three primary functions: Park Operations, Fundraising/Marketing, and Design/Construction Management.
Solution
Owners could focus the majority of their energy on the Park Operations and Fundraising/Marketing. This allowed ViTe to take control of the Design and Construction Management processes. We started with scope definition for accountability and approval by the owners. A site map for the park design was finalized while utilizing a very extensive value engineering process to arrive at manageable budgets. A schedule was approved for a phased approach and we are expected to initialize Phase One in early 2015.
Result
The Cancer Survivors Park is currently under development and expected to get started the beginning of 2015.
